How it works
You say what you want, the bot tells you what comes up.
Roomalert is a bot in Telegram. You tell it once your city, your maximum rent and what you need. After that you get a message as soon as a room or studio comes up in Amsterdam or Utrecht that fits.

For seekers, in four steps.
Open the bot
All you need is Telegram. The bot first asks your language: Dutch or English.
Say what you want
Your city, your maximum rent, the smallest size and from when. And whether you only want to rent indefinitely or for longer than three months, and whether you need to be able to register.
Get an alert
When a room or studio comes up that fits, you get a message. One per room at most. With /mail you get them by mail as well.
Respond
To a room placed through Roomalert you respond in the bot. For a room from another site you get the link to the advertisement.
This is what an alert looks like, exactly.
This is an example with an invented room. The text is made by the same program that writes the real alerts, so this is how it reaches you too: the facts first, then the advertiser's own words.
There are three buttons under the alert. Respond sends the advertiser a message through the bot. Not this one takes the alert away. Pause stops the alerts until you start them again.
Example. This room does not exist and is not in the list.

Room in Voorbeeldbuurt, Amsterdam € 780 per month 14 m² Available from: 01-11-2026 Rental length: indefinite or longer than three months Registration: yes Source: Roomalert Bright room on the second floor, in a house with three others. Shared kitchen and bathroom. Viewing by appointment.
What the labels say, and what they do not.
Advertisements often hide what matters most. So it is at the top of every room. When Roomalert does not know, it says so: ask the advertiser then.
Rental length
- indefinite or longer than three months
- temporary, three months or less
- unknown, ask the advertiser
For a room placed through Roomalert this comes from the advertiser's answers; for a room from another site, from the advertisement.
Registration
- yes
- no
- unknown, ask the advertiser
Whether you can register at the address of the room. When it says unknown, the advertisement did not say.
Warning
🔴 Warning, possible scam: price far below average. Never pay before a viewing.
When something looks like a scam, this line is above the alert. For now on one signal: a rent far below what is normal. A warning is not proof, and no warning is not a guarantee.
Respond without giving your number, on both sides.
What the advertiser sees
Your first name and your short introduction. Never your Telegram name, your phone number or your mail address.
What you see
The advertiser's messages, through the bot. You do not see a name or number of the advertiser either.
Your letter as a draft
With /brief you write a short text about yourself once. When you respond, the bot offers it as the start of your message.
Every conversation has a button to report abuse. If you want to continue outside the bot, you write your details in a message yourself.
Do you have a room? Then it goes like this.
Answer a few questions
In the bot: city, room or studio, rent, size, neighbourhood, from when, and whether registration is possible. With up to four photos.
The room is checked
Every room is checked before it goes out: automatically first, and by a person in case of doubt.
You decide whom to answer
Everyone whose search fits gets an alert. Responses come in through the bot.
